Hi All, i've read in a couple of threads people saying about saving there previous channel order etc and then flashing it, is that possible? If so could someone give me a quick guide or post a useful link, as i would prefer to save the channel order i have already, rather than put them in order again, if it's too complicated then i think i'll leave it and just update the box before rearranging the channels, but if not i'll have a go.
If anyone has done this, would appreciate any help
    Thanks

Hi mate, I'm not sure if channel dumps are working with the new update. I have tried to do mine but I'm struggling where to go once the download to the box has finished. (Channel list download) I would appreciate someone giving a guide or just some info about whether it will work or not.

Hi apdubb, ok Cheers ok then i'll wait a while and hope someone posts a guide or link etc otherwise i'll just flash my box...
Read your instructions for doing it from V4.51 in the other post, so thanks for that
How did you save your channel order though, and did you flash it after you have updated etc?

No problem matey. I'm new to all this stuff, first time I've done it. Scary but really easy once it's done. Read all the relevant topics about updating especially if your using RS232 (not sure if its RS232 its the female portion of this that goes into box I had an adapter that made my RS232 fit) to USB cable. Selecting correct COM port was the hardest part.

There is a tutorial on here somewhere matey. Basically connect your box to the pc. Open the loader. Click channel data file. Click upload and name and specify the location of the dump then save. Once its done you need to download the Starview channel editor from Eamos files that are kicking around here somewhere. Sorry not sure where but you can find them on old posts.
Open the channel editor and open the dump you saved previously and once you are happy with it resave it with another name. Then try and download it to your box. Virtually the same way as the firmware but click channel list only and specify you channel list in the BIN section. Mine didn't work I hope you have more luck. Do it after you have flashed with new firmware and updates etc.

You need to use theboxconverter.exe to change the channel format from old to new. Firmaware 4.51e and thechanneleditor use the old format, 4.54 and the fix use the new format.

To get channel list off the box just upload and choose a name

To put channels on download as a channel data file.
It must be converted after editing though if using the fix, otherwise thebox will want to scan again

    Hope this helps
