I downloaded the StreamBox VCR Suite v2.0 and tried to save the following file:
    http://play.rbn.com/?url=kennedy/kennedyg2/g2demand/07312004_1800_MSN.rm

    The program found 2 files:
    rtsp://rx-lvl3-pa08.rbn.com/farm/*/kennedy/kennedyg2/g2demand/07312004_1800_MSN.rm
    pnm://rx-lvl3-pa08.rbn.com/farm/*/kennedy/kennedyg2/g2demand/07312004_1800_MSN.rm

The program could not connect to the rtsp file and the pnm file reported an error.

I have read many of the FAQ’s and was wondering if the problem was RealPlayer 10.0 so I downloaded RealPlayer 8.0 and had the same results.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

I didn't have any trouble downloading that with the SMF+turbo or SMF+ versions of StreamBox VCR.

I suspect that you have one of those many ISP's that cause problems for recording software, probably because of some type of data caching. Try using alternate ports. This often works in these situations.

    RTSP using HTTP port 80.
    rtsp://rx-lvl3-pa08.rbn.com:80/farm/*/kennedy/kennedyg2/g2demand/07312004_1800_MSN.rm

    RTSP using PNA-PNM port 7070.
    rtsp://rx-lvl3-pa08.rbn.com/farm:7070/*/kennedy/kennedyg2/g2demand/07312004_1800_MSN.rm

The version of RealPlayer you have doesn't matter to StreamBox VCR. StreamBox Ripper does need some .dll file changes to be used with RealPlayer 10.

All that and much more information at the link below.
    Read the FAQ's first.

Many thanks for pointing me in the right direction - using the port 80 worked with no problems:)

Sorry for the delay in responding - I was out of town for a couple of weeks.

Thanks for being 'kind' to a Newbie:)
