saving your settings

    when i shut my computer down it ofen says saving your settings and gets stuck on that screen and i have to swich the computer off at the plug...can any1 suggest any reasons why?

    what windows are you using & what is computer specs

    urmm xp pro, amd 2.0,256 ram,nvidia 128 mb graphics card

    I used to have this problem with Windows 2000, but never with XP. Are all your updates up to date? That would be my first guess.

    1. don't have to pull the plug, hold the power button for 8 to 10 secs & system will shut off by it self
    2. check microsoft's faq site for reference to that problem
    3. have you run any antispyware & antivirus programs on your computer

    yer i kno the 5 second hold the power off button thing the other thing was just easyer to say,i havnt got the service pack 2....but i get a error whilst trying to install it

    run ad-aware se, spybot s&d 1.3, do an online scan with www.antivirus.com free housecall but empty all cookies, windows temp & temporary internet folders

    i have them both,already and norton 2005

    do an online scan just to confirm no viruses as norton doesn't always pickup things
