my drives to have DMR active on both. i read in the "FOG" thread that someone else said it was slow to rip. it took like 4 hours for them. when i pull up DVD Shrink to burn the files i get a "memory" error message. do you know what causes this. i don't have any software running in the backround such as AnyDVD or DVD Region Free+CSS or DVD43. i am in the middle of trying to rip it again. Hope It Works.
DVDFab should rip it the with the same effects as AnyDVD and once you run it through VobBlanker it the structure should be corrected for transcoding with DVD Shrink. Have you uninstalled DVDFab and reinstalled it with the latest version. The latest update was supposed to take care of some speed issues.
i had a hard time with saw 2 tryed shrink with dvd region = css free running in the backround but got the error cyclic redundancy check" also got the out of memory error also, got it to the hard drive with ghost dvd and thain i used dvd fab decryptor to rip it and used shrink to do it's thing and got it to shrink and burn took quite a bit of time to back this movie up but got it done also i did zathura with no problems at all dvd region + css running in the backround with shrink no problems
what is the newest version of DVD Ghost. and what did you use to rip the files, did you use vobBlanker? i like this idea and will try when i get home
I just backed-up this movie, ripped it with DVDFab Decrypter, and ran it through DVD Shrink (all the while AnyDVD was running in the background)
i made a back up with no problem i used dvd shrink 3.1 I had a little trouble playing it at first but just taking it out and putting it back into my dvd player. Everything worked fine movies, extras and all.
Nothing special on Saw 2 - used shrink by it's lonesome and burned with decrypter - full disc. No issues playing. Then put original back in w/ anydvd on to see what it said on copy protection - nothing special. @latinleo The last version of shrink is 3.2 you should up date to that one. Just as a precaution, since some people were running into problems here, and because I was leaving, I first ripped it with VOBblanker. Then compressed it with Shrink, and burned with Decryptor. Obviously, AnyDVD was running. Then, when I got home, I saw that...it was successful. Seemed easy enough to me!
well maybe i am doing something wrong here. i have copied the files with DVDFab Decryptor (newest version) tried to shrink it with DVD Shrink. i keep getting an error message that says something about the VOB_2 or VOB_3 files (it switches back and forth). then i tried ripping it with dvd shrink alone, i get a cyclic error. then i took some advice and got DVD Ghost, copied the files. ran it through vobBlanker and tried to shrink it for burn. no luck there. tried to run my copied files that i got from both DVDfab Decryptor and DVD Ghost through nero recode. same problem. now i have dvd ghost running in the backround and i am currently using DVDfab Express Platinum to burn the disc. i am in the middle of ripping files and burning. i swear to god if this doesn't work i am going to rip my f------ head off.
@ LATINLEO... Hi, can you email me the dvdshrink 3.1 ? or give me the link to download it ? I have a friend who also ripped saw 2 with shrink 3.1, but he does not have the file, only program installed. Apparently yes ! it does work w shrink 3.1 ALONE. can I give out email address in this forum ?
Well I used 3.2 and it did the job - shrink to rip/encode and decrypter to burn. You can download anydvd (free for 21 days) to run behind shrink or try dvdfab decrypter or dvd decrypter to rip then open the files in shrink.
gatorsean, The problem you are having has to be the disk . I did the disk used DVDDecrypter to rip to HD. There is no special encryption on this movie as it is a Lions Gate Production and not Sony or Universal. I am in Region 1 and this movie was really simple to do
dvdnuts, Go here if you really want old versions of DVD Shrink but there is nothing wrong w/ the newer version. http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/dvdshrinkold/
