science fair

    my comp sci teacher is requiring me to create a project for the science fair, but i have no ideas right now.

    do you guys have any suggstions for a project?

    i would like to do something about comp sci. i know some basic programming.

    any suggestions would be great.

    how to write your first hello world program :)

    do some 3d animation or somehting, thats hard stuff.

    you could perform a simple yet impressive task... make your own Playstation Pad to PC Pad Converter..

    all you need is an old PS pad and an old Printer (parralel) Cable

    all schematics and everything else you need is here...

    its a pretty cool thing to make and you get to carry on using it afterwards aswell. i made one of these myself and it does work... give it a try

    if you really wanted to impress the teacher you could write your own drivers for the Pad... or at least edit the original and say you made them lol...

    you could do something like on how a hard drive works and the data structure, file allocation table, how the data is written, erased.
    It is really interesting, i studied it once. Then you could also have a side demo on cd / dvd burners and how the laser "burns" the data to the media and the file structure also. The internet and library is brimming with info, just make sure to put it into your own words.
