Can anyone please help I have a sv box with all channels but around 15 times a night it flashes up "scrambled or bad channel" for about 20 seconds then the channel comes back on fine. This gets pretty annoying any help would be great. I am also wondering if I can get the ricky hatton fight if so which channel will it be on. Many thanx

It sounds like you need to update the software on it,press the 'Menu' buton on your remote and go to 'System Information' and post back what API version is on it.

If you have The Box it will have The Box logo on the top left front of it also if it's the second one it will have a circle button on the front but if it is The Box it will have it written on it.

Ok that's great stuff you have a S******w 1 you'll need to update the API to version 4.00 to stop the constant "scrambled or bad channel" from coming up.Do you know how to do this ?

Ok you will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F

    Like this one here
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6 this link is only for a reference as you can get the cables much cheaper on fleabay.

If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable.

You can get the firmware here: http://eko.4shared.com/ open the 'Starview' folder then open the 'Firmware' folder and you will see this : (2) STARVIEW_H20070607_400eE_api.bin this is what you need to download onto your box.
Also if you open the 'Documentation' folder there is step by step guides on how to update your box.
Post back if you're having any trouble.

Shouldnt as you have had V3 on it for quite a while so must be a genuine box all it will do is improve things as CO19 said.

Haven't go a clue how to do all that so i'm going to put up with it or buy one of them boxes that updates itself. Anyway tonight most of my channels are coming up "scrambled or bad channel" and stopping on that. Is that to do with the version I am using or do I need new codes.

They are the correct codes, press the SV EV Info link at the end of my post then click keys, this will show you a visual guide on how to input codes, maybe that your key emu is off or you havent saved the codes.
