Hey everyone, When the screen is closed on my MacBook and I'm looking towards the vents, I can see that the left side the screen is buckled/warped upwards. I also noticed that the plastic around the vents is out of shape. Should I contact apple technical support? I'd rather have a replacement to be honest, or at least get it sorted. Thanks
probly should bring it into an apple store nearby google it for your area they will replace your casing in about 20 minutes to an hour if you are under warrenty but they will not give you a whole new macbook if thats what you mean by replacement
OK thanks. No I wasn't expecting a whole new MacBook, just some sort replacement of the casing. Thanks.
If you're going to go to an apple store and see if you can get a replacement of case parts, I don't think they can do it because I recently took in my macbook pro with a dent and a broken disk drive and they said that the dent might get worse if they do it, and they said nothing about a replacement case part so I don't think you can get replacement.
If it's the top case (the keyboard part that rests on the bottom case), thats buckling/warping, they should probably be able to take care of that. If it's the display or bottom case, it may be regarded as cosmetic and not covered under warranty. Sometimes cases can cause problems. Carrying it in a messenger bag with books and such can crack the top case after a while. I'd bring it it. Diagnosis is free.
