I hope that everyone knows that they are dealing with scumbags here. They have ceased all tech support of their products, but continue to sell the poorly designed and buggy crap. It's scum like this that's making the internet into a cesspool.
I don't know why I'm bothering with responding to such an worthless post, but read the news: http://www.finance.lycos.com/qc/news/story.aspx?symbols=NASDAQ:ERTS&story=200406170507_APO_V8184 321 is considering going bankrupt, and is getting sued by multiple companies unjustly IMO. you got a problem with a 321 product, post a question, and 99.9999% of the time you will get your answer, but not after posting something like that. Or better yet try researching before before making assumptions.
I apologise for the poorly thought out rant I posted. Aparently, in my desire to be brief, some clarity was lost. Actually, I am well informed about the extreme hassles that the agents of The Best Government That Money Can Buy have inflicted upon 321 Studios. I am not the sort of person who would download a rip/burn app thru box.sk, then rely on a board like this one for tech support. Surely, you folks have more interesting things to do than to handhold newbie me. So, I buy a full dollar DVD X Copy Gold, knowing that what I'm really paying for is that toll free tech support number. Then, Hollywood Money makes it go away. That's a pisser, but understandable. My one and only gripe is that 321 Studio is still selling their copy apps on their site with the same Flash in your face, it's better than sliced bread, adds without bothering to mention that the product has no support whatsoever (other than you guys). THAT is the kind of business practice that is making this neat resource into a bit of a cesspool. As to where's the audio, this newbie did not see that the board startup page had "audio" in a little box off to the right. No wonder I couldn't find a Caveat Emptor or Bad Bisnesses thread! As far as I'm concerned, this entire thread can be terminated and sent to the Cosmic Bit Bin. Thanks for your patience.
In defence of 321, I would like to point out a few things. 1/. When they were running properly they employed over 400 people, and their tech support was superb. Since al the lawsuits, they are now down to 50. 2/. Why would they get injuncted if the products didn't work? 3/. Why blame someone ese for your system setup? Just going into a rant is no real soolution, neither is it a way to get a solution.
In defence of 321, I have never had a problem with DVDxCopy and was upgraded to the platium version of the software. However that has nothing to do really with this web domain. At this web address we talk and help people with all problems. YOu should be aware of that if this was originally in Audio section.
Totally agree every 321 product ive downloaded over the years has been junk with the"backup" screen etc. Why people would purchase it is beyond me! I advise everyone to use DVDshrink and nero.
Hi all. Am I reading this correctly? Based on estimated sales: $150 millions divided by 400 employees => average $31250/employee/month. .. down to: $400,000 divided by 24 employees => average $16666.66/employee/month (notice the "666"). WOW!!! I hope dvdshrink doesn't read this report. _X_X_X_X_X_[small]~ ddlooping~ For DVD Shrink and related softwares guides and downloads, please visit http://www.dvdshrink.info[/small]
321 studios is going out of business because they challenged some of the basics of the DMCA. Denial of "Fair Use". I am sure that it has been an agonizing fight for them. Trial Lawyers will gravitate to where they can earn the most. It is sad when individual rights are trumped by the individual greed of the TLA, MPAA & RIAA membership. I've not been a 321 Studios fan. Their goal was noble. My first purchase from them left me discouraged tho. At that time their offering was more like a compilation of freeware. I do applaud their tenacity and courage. I hope they survive and make a comeback. Heaven forbid their legacy will be that they were bought out by Microsoft. TC
Robert is fighting for Robert, not all of us. I too was very pissed when i found out that 321 were selling free software in the past and I still havent forgiven them for it. However, challanging DMCA is a good thing for everybody but come on, governments all over the world are gone capilatist now, id highly doubt new light will shine any time soon!
Justice has been served, how this company got away with selling shit programmes for so long I do not know.
That's not justice. That is a disaster. Next thing - bye bye to ALL rippers, P2P, fileshares, the whole 9 yards. The way things are going, it is the end of freedom for digital information.
I am with Wilks on this one. Terrrible haveing a company that was fighting for the rights to save you stuff, have problems.
yeah, i've never liked there products, but I agree this does mark the end of era. I guess it's time we all start learning java, C++, smalltalk, or visual basic.
I do not like 321 software it works for some and not for others. This is each individuals right to purchase this software.I purchased myself i just did not like it.However if the goverment comes along and cuts your legs off you can not walk anymore. To gripe about a few tech support lines is totally shit man. From what i hear they provided a good service when it was when in business. If the company can not pay wages anymore becuase they have stopped selling there software what do you exspect.Would you get out of bed in the morning for nothing i do not think so.So what if they are selling off all the remainder of there stock. It may help them to give there staff some sort of a pay off.The most important fact he is that jobs were lost.So if you want to gripe about a few closed tech lines do it but my sympathy goes to the guys who are out of work and not you Fuck321.
