hello decided to do a soft mod on my sisters cube and as we had all the nesacary things to do the SD softmod were going for that, done action replay codes, tried making a home made SD/Memory card but i managed to stuff that up so i ordered an official sd thing from lik-sang but my question is here how do i format the card to FAT16? ive looked for a while but decided to ask here so could anyone please tell me how to do this all i can format it to is FAT & FAT32 dont see any 16 in my options
Access it with your computer and format it. Easiest way I can explain it is get it to show up in my computer and right click on the SD card. Select format and pick FAT16.
thats what ive been doing but there is no option for FAT16 its only FAT32 or FAT, i cant see any FAT16
do you have windows xp home or professional with service pack 2 the reason im asking is in service pack 2 in windows xp home or pro they have disabled fat 16 so you can no longer format the card as this also make sure your card isn't to big because several gamcube sd memory card readers at lik-sang are not compatible with most us titles only with japanese ones
damn i do have SP2 pro XP but i can probably find sum one with SP1 so thats no big deal, thanks for the help. i got the official nintnedo adapter so it should work shouldnt it, i know it wont work with normal game saves only soe version of animal crossing but that game is really gay. i just want it to play back ups. thanks for the help
Jesus tap dancing christ, i redid an old PC and put XP PRO SP1 on it and it gives me the same damn options i really hope this FAT format option is FAT16 but ill have to wait till the adapter arives some time soon...
Just got the adapter today and it donsnt matter what service pack you are on 1 or 2 as long as u do the FAT format it works, this method kicks ass you can have as many apps as you want not being restricted like in the QOOB internal flash memory ive got every home brew app on the sd card and it rocks, not as conveinent as a chip but just as good
