Well since you gave us next to nothing to go on........ What version of SecuRom? Make/model drive? Firmware version? Any and all Software being used?
the software is unrealtournament2004 i burned the cd regularly and i tried to use the burned disc and it said wont work with backup disc must have original. It said go to securom.com for details. So i checked it with clonyxxl and it came up protection Securom*new* so i tried discdumper then i burned it and it didnt work so i am coming to you to ask you what do i do??? please help
Okay, UT2004K is going to be SecuRom 5.02 or 5.03 which can be a tough one. Try running A-Ray scanner on it to verify: http://www.aray-software.com/ I still need to know the make and model of the burner you're using since there are only certain types of burners that can write protections. Is DiscDumper the only software you have? Do you have anything like Alcohol 120% or BlindWrite5?
I am using a micro advantage 52x32. I only have disc dumper. I didnt think alcohol would work with the securom that well. Disc dumper wouldnt do the trick. And also I am using roxio cd creator which i would much rather have nero but I dont have a compatible version and I dont want to buy one. theres everything. thanks for helping me]
I used the aray scanner and all it told me was Securom detected. I used the clonyxxl and it had 6 skulls and said securom*new*.
I can't find MicroAdvantage drives on any of the "2-sheep" burner lists and I'm also not sure if MA actually makes the drive or it's an OEM made by another company. Here's a link to a test to see if your drive can write EFM correctly: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/45121 For SecuRom the best program to be had is BlindWrite5. There's a 14-day trial for it and can be found at VSO's website: http://www.vso-software.fr/ Basically the nuts and bolts of it is that with the newer protections it's becoming mandatory to have a 2-sheep burner (one that can write EFM correctly) in order to write the protections so if you're drive doesn't turn out to be a 2-sheeper I'd recommend picking up either a Lite On 52327S or an Asus 5232AS both of which sell for around $30 and are great drives for backing up games
