Hello all I've been doing this for a few months now and currently ran into a problem. I'm using TDK DVD-R's. The problem I believe to be having is my burnt discs are not getting finalized anymore. Or does syncronizing cache mean that it is? I've always used dvd decrypter to burn my discs.
What is the target size that you are burning to. Can you post the Decrypter log file so we can see what is going on. Are you using DVDShrink as well? Check out the guide for decrypter and shrink in my sig by bbmayo. They are excellent and has certainly helped me to burn without errors. Post back so we can try to help you.

You should consider getting better quality media, CMC Mag is not very good quality. The log file looks normal to me except my decrypter logs always say finalizing disc and then goes through the %of finalizing in the status bar til it hits 100%. Does yours do that? What target size are you setting DVDShrink to? On the Edit menu in shrink click on preferences and on the preferences tab click the target size down arrow and select custom. Then type in 4300 into the target window. This will keep your burns from burning too close to the edge. Anyone else: See anything amiss?
Everything looks good to me except what 9mmruger1 already pointed out. Your f/w is current. Stay away from TDK +r media. They are known for being the dreaded cmc mag garbage. Try some different/better media and I bet all will be ok.
So any ideas on how i get decrypter to show the finalizing step for this. I know it used to do it. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled decrypter. I'll check the dvd shrink settings right now
Ok dvd shrink setting was 46 something. changed it to the 4300. I have had alot of luck with this crappy media so far. Trying to use up the end of it. Odd thing is my ps2 used to play with no problems now it won't even read the disc?
@Lexfev Target size may have been you issue as you were burning to the edge of the disc. Give it a go at the new setting and see what happens.
I attempted it again and still no finalizing on the decryptor end of it. Any other ideas or settings i should try to adjust?
Nero - now you're talking my language. However it sounds like CMC utter rubbish media are trying their best to live up to their reputation. anyway, for what it's worth, let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar. You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======" can't do miracles ie can't make those CMC discs magically become burnable but can certainly check out your settings...
No luck finding the log file. This is so frustrating. anything else i can do to make this finalize the disc?
it was worth a try (well it wasn't really as CMC really are that bad!). you'll have to try better discs i'm afraid...
with Nero Burning Rom you'd just do file/open then select the ISO file. me, i don't bother with ISO format, i just do 'dvd-video' compilations and copy the video_ts folder into Nero Burning Rom...
Can you hook me up with a guide to try it your method? And when you do burn with Nero does it finalize the disc as well?
yup, i use Shrink heavily, ie for virtually all my rips, i get ALL my movies down to 4300MB, then i burn as detailed in that link
