Alright, after playing NGNT4 for about 20+ the last couple days, it seems as though my GC has decided it doesn't want to play back-ups anymore. I pop in originals and they work fine whereas none of the back-ups I have work anymore.

Any suggestions? I've tried messing with the pot values again and all I'm getting are DRE, "unable to read disc," and "No medium found" messages with Qoob Pro.

I'd rather not replace any parts, but it looks like I've managed to kill my GC's laser...

Maybe backup is been scratched so that it cant be played anymore...
Or Qoob solders have been ripped out somehow, if u use GC without cover..

Nah, my back-ups are all in good condition. I tried about three or four with the same results, all of which had been working prior.

Also, I checked all the solder points and everything looks fine.

Although, I'll admit that I didn't check to see if the terminals are still snugly in place, so maybe that could be the problem.

On a side note, one of the originals I tried was NGNT3, and it booted up nice and quick. That's why I figured it wasn't the Qoob Pro since it was still booting imports quickly.

Hi, i just modded my gamecube, and immediately made a few backups. Namely shadow the hedgehog, pikmin 2, star wars rogue squadron 2 and resident evil 4.

Pikmin 2 boots and runs perfect, yet the other 3 all freeze at a certain point of the game loading ( the discs stop spinning )

For example, shadow freezes at the first cut scene.

I dont know if this is a media issue? i burnt onto DVD-r, or whether i am getting a similar problem to you.

or you could have one of the new gamecubes that have mod chip disablers as a option i just purchase a black gamecube to put a mod chip in i hooked up the mod chip and turned on the gamecube and the new out of the box gamecube came up with a error code 6069

    with this message:

a mod chip or non gamecube product has been detected your device has been disabled for system safety

so i went out and purchased one at my local gamestop used and now i don't have this problem

and tryout linux for gamecube it's really cool
