    Hey All,

I continue to get this error whenever I try to recode a AVI file to DVD. And it doesnt matter if I burn it to DVD disk or hard drive. The second the recode starts, it fails with this error.

    15:16:57] DVDEngine ERROR
    [15:16:57] DVDEngine cause: 128 (nmc_processing_exception)
    [15:16:57] DVDEngine source: DEGuardNMCConversion
[15:16:57] DVDEngine description: SEH EXCEPTION caught during INeroMediaConverter::DoConversion().
    [15:16:57] DVDEngine

Thus far I uninstalled NERO using the clean tool. Reinstalled Nero. Removed my nvidia drivers, reinstalled, removed my ATI driver, reinstalled, removed divx, reinstaled. Nothing seems to help. I have only been able to make it work once! And when I try the same AVI again (thinking my AVI were the problem) it doesnt work!

What the heck is up with NEro 7?

    System specs:
    Abit AN7 Nforce 2
    AMD2600+
    1GB DDR400
    80GB SATA (C = 20GB for windows, D = 60 for programs and swap file)
    80GB SATA (storage)
    80GB ATA100 (downloads)
    NEC 4X DVD
    400PSU
    WIN XP SP2
    ATI 9800 PRO w/ ATI 6.2 driver

    Thank you!

Well, heres the deal though. I did a full burn to disk on one of my AVI files before and now it doesnt work. I could be wrong, but I assume there is nothing wrong with my avi files.

I will look into moving my sawp files around.

As it stands this is how I have my rig setup

    (1) 80GB SATA MAXTOR Partitioned into two drives (20 and 60)

    20GB = Windows or C drive
60GB = Programs or D Drive (games, nero, photoshop etc)

Swap file is on the D drive and it was originally set to 1024-1024 I assumed since majority of the programs that would need a swap file would be on D, then I might as well have the swap there two? Right? No?

    (1) 80GB SATA Maxtor (E Drive) that holds all my documents, videos, mp3's, pictures and backups.

    (1) 80GB WD ATA100 (F drive) drive for anything I download.

Once I got them errors I decieded to put a swap file on my C drive thinking perhaps it just needed one.

    So now I got 1024-1024 on C
    and I also got 1024-1024 on D

THEN I tried windows managed on both. Then I tried 4096-4096 on D, then 4096-4096 on C.

    Still nothing.

Both C and D run the same speeds. About 65mpbs

Anyways, I just found a patch on neros site for nero vision saying it fixes the recode issues. Going to try it (if I dont already have it installed) and will let you all know.

    Thanks again,
    Don

I'm gonna guess the issues lies in the AVI files you are using. IMHO, it looks like its having a problem transcoding the video file into a DVD video friendly format. Try a different video file and see if it gets transcoded. If it works, then that is your problem.

This is from the link I provided in my last post:
May want to try virtual dub to try and clean up the file. It worked for this guy.

Thank you all for your help! I ended up finding a solution that worked for me. I went to Nero's site looking for a forum and found a PATCH they have for NVE 3. I installed it and BAM! All my files transcode now! WOOT WOOT!

Here is the link to the patch I found. I hope this helps the rest of you out there.
