I recently Combined 3 video files into one(and deleted the 3 seperate ones) trying to get it onto one dvd but it turns it that its just too big to get on one dvd. Is there a way to seperate the one file into 2.

I don't have a lot of experience with video so my solution may not be the cheapest, fastest, easiest etc. I would use studio 9 since I have it and it does the job, but you would have to pay for it.

Yes, if you have Windows XP - then you can use Windows Movie Maker (which comes, free, with windows OS). I've done the very thing your talking about- and this program will do it.

Loading the movie into WMM will autmatically split the video into chunks (like 1 for every camera angle, so for example Pirates of the Carribean 1 has like 1400 some-odd chunks). Select all of the ones you want (CTRL+SHIFT) and then it will save it as an WMV or an AVI.
