Ok i hope that some can help me here ....

Iam trying to set up a Wireless Ethernet point for my mothers house which is 2 doors from me!!!

First off she has no PC!
So iam trying to set up a live Ethernet point in her house so that i can set up either a Dreambox or a Starview!

Ok the easiest is to run a Ethernet cable from my house to hers...but i cannot do that coz it means crossing the boundary of the house in the middle (shes 2 doors away...)

My wifi can be picked up in her house no prob....
Is there an easy way of doing this?
I see double Ethernet Plugs available to buy for within Ur own home... but i do not see any Double WI fi routers that can be set up as a pair.....

You could always sell mother's house & move her into your house

You could try a wireless bridge or repeater. I am using one similar to this in my girlfriends which is a huge house to use with her sat receiver and works perfect. Like this

click on the third link in my signature area mate ,its a link to a thread called starview6 future proof . it may help you as there is a post in there about a router that can have a usb internet stick attached to it ,allowing an ethernet cable to be connected up to a box .i dont think home plugs will stretch that far.

what you raise is an interesting point about community wireless. its rather simple to implement. you need one ADSL point to which all users are allowed to share. The ADSL point is connected to a antenna which distributes signal to different houses within the estate. The estate users have wireless routers that are then connected to the network. Lots of information on the web, just search community wireless infrastructure. Not exactly dreambox sharing, just internet sharing.

or if you have wireless, allow the other person to connect to that router via the wep key, if they can pick the signal up, my neighbour does this with his next door neighbour, they both split the BB cost

Now thats also possible, as is the fact that all Eircom WPAs are cracked. Sadly not the same with their WPA2 routers.

but if ya give em the key, they can log on to it, thats if the other person is close enough to pick up a strong signal

on that count there is an open forum for enhancing the signal strength (onc again Linux based). Its pretty cool what you can do with a standard router by reprogramming it. That being said there are only a certain amount of routers that support DD-WRT. However if Rump is interested he will find by buying one such router and programming it he will be easily be able to bridge the wireless gap
