Press the 'Menu' button on the remote and enter 1570 if it works which I'm not too sure whether it will or not as the firmware on the box needs to be updated and may not support this function but anyway after you enter 1570 this should bring up a list, look down the bottom of this list and you will see 'Key EMU' if this says 'OFF' turn it to 'ON',you should find the channels back working.

To update the firmware you will first need to identify whether it is a genuine box or a clone to find out count the vents on top to confirm

    18 slots x7 rows = clone
    25 " x7 " = genuine

The Latest firmware for a clone is
    STAR_VIEW_H20060816_257eE_api_FIXED.bin

You will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F.

    Null modem info

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6

If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable.

    USB Adapter info

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Modu...erial Adaptor

These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased alot cheaper on fleabay.

All firmware/loader can be found here http://eko.4shared.com/

You will need the GTromloader, (Starview Software Uploader), found in the Starview software folder of the link.

Now select the firmware either ver 4.00 for a genuine Star***w 1 box or ver 4.50 if you're in Ireland or ver 4.51 if you're in the UK for 'The Box' if you have a clone box select version 257 FIXED all of which can be found in the 'firmware' folder.

    Updating Firmware

Connect your box and PC with a Null modem cable and switch on the cable box and put it on STANDBY.
(The Starview does not need to be connected to TV to update it with GTROM)

Open GTROM Loader software make sure that you set the correct COM PORT
that matches the one that is being used

Make sure App file only is selected, then click Bin File & browse to the firmware where you downloaded it to on your PC.

Run the GTROM loader by pressing Download and you will see the % progress increase
then Download completed message on your PC.
Wait until you see the DOWNLOAD COMPLETE pop up on your PC before
removing the NULL MODEM CABLE. The Starvi*w will then reboot

Turn off and turn back on , then plug your tv cable and scart back in

    * You should download the Starview PDF guide this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything. This can be found in the Starview Documentation folder in the link.

Strange one, can't say I've come across it before, did you download the Star***w PDF guide which tells you how to do everything in great detail ? you'll find it in the Star***w documentation folder in the eko4shared link, have a read through the instructions on this and see how you get on.

I HAVE FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE PDF,,

    I found out the box is a clone 7 x 18 slots
    Downloaded GtRom Loader.
    Downloaded firmware STAR_VIEW_H20060816_257eE_api_Fixed.bin

    and followed the instructions..

When i go to device manager and check coms its says usb to serial (com4).
