setting up new router

    just got my router today and i cant seem to be connecting to the net, ive connected the cables properly but dont seem to be receiving any packets.

    i dont really know much about routers and i think i need to set it up but dont know how to, i just chose dynamic ip.

    can anyone help pls? its a tp link router btw

    yes, i did the setup, but still doesnt work, i think its to do with the tcp/ip thing

    what windows are you using? are you on cable or dsl for modem? who makes the modem?

    cable modem, windows xp

    disconnect the power cable & coax cable to the modem. count 20 seconds then reconnect the power cable & coax cable in that order. should now be online.
