setting up server

    hi guys was thinking of setting up a server for me and a few friends ,can the server be traced , and can s*y tell if their sub card is missing from the reciever.
    thanks for any advice..

    Hi, its perfectly safe. they have no way of finding out if you have the card in the receiver or not.

    thanks , was only gonna put may 10-12 family and friends on it just to cover the costs,so they can't tell where the server is located ?

    not if your doing it yourself and keeping it private, your family, then you should be ok

    thanks mickah, gonna start one up if i keep it to 10 or 12 will that help stop any glitching or freezing ..

    IF you keep it to 10/12 people and there are family/friends you wont have any glitching/freezing. and you can run it on dreambox/technomate or something similiar.

    cheers guys was goin to try a openbox s9 they any good or should i use a blade?

    openbox does not support server functionality. blade does not support 7 day epg. what you will find is the cheaper you go the more people will say thanks but no thanks. so do it properly. at least supply dreambox 800 for all members and use a proper central server

    if setting up a central server can i use windows or has it got to be linux ,has i only want a few family and friends on the server, which is the best way to go ?

    debian or ubuntu with smargo

    what is all i need to complete set up, got cccam 2.1.4, smargo+,debian on linux pc do i need to install oscam. what do i install for the keys.

    cccam is fine, don't need oscam. just write your cccam.cfg and voila. Once again there is no such thing as keys anymore

    please help again. why are sports and movies not available. could this be that i need to enter the PIN. All sports are not normally blocked on the pin.
