hi, bought starview 2 pvr box and managed to sort out adapter for it.now have power going to it.managed to find screen with what looks like a clutch plate surrounded by sword blades this stays on for approx 10-15 secs then screen goes black and just a single dash on display any ideas where i,m going wrong.got aerial cable in ant in and lead to tv,then i,ve got short black cable going from cable loop 1 output to cable 2 input and virgin cable in cable 1 input.are these correct?do have to piggy back box of virgin box?thanks in advance joe
Press Menu/Installation/Select your network provider using left/right aroow keys on remote then Auto Scan. If you are still struggling go to the link below and look in StarviewPVR/Documents folder http://eko.4shared.com/ jbvid

had to take out harddrive to install channels but remote control doesnt seem to work properly-can get to parental controls with box but cant access emu settings for channels-waiting for email about remote and harddrive from supplier as we wait
still waiting for email of supplier but it is sunday so will give him benefit of doubt,anyway managed to scan box for channels seemed ok but unable to watch premium channels.now my remote doesnt appear to work on box on tv(switching on,off changing channels)now do i need new remote(tried new batteries still same)or do i have to tune into box frequency?taking out the harddrive enabled me to start scanning for channels but i havent put it back in yet(is it ok or is it knackered)hopefully remote is something stupid as i need this to enter parental control and change emu setting?thanks guys
Your remote problem will be the AUX and STB buttons. AUX Kills the remote and STB brings it back to life. jbvid
hi jb,just tried remote its ok(you were right about stb button)nowmy problem now is trying to unscramble channels.when i go to parental control press i button(no change on screen it looks like i,m changing password)tap in code 2007 nothing happens,it doesnt take me to key + emu buttons so i cant auto update.any idea of what i,m doing wrong.thanks joe
just tried again and it now seems to be working great all channels i think.looks like tomorrow i will be sorting out parental lock to stop kids watching anything they shouldnt,lots of film channels,music,and sport so made up only need to sort out harddrive now.thanks again jb for help
You are not doing it right. Goto Menu/System Setup, when Parental Control is highlighted press ok then i then 2007,If you don't get into the 'CAS SYSTEM' menu you are not still not doing it right so try a few more times till you get the i 2007 speed correct. When in 'Cas Menu' make sure Auto Update option is ON. Then goto a scrambled channel and wait a min or so until clear jbvid
all channels seem to be working(except pay for view porn)but not really bothered about that.are there any channels i wont be able to watch on box?watched all reruns of yesterdays matches fine,harddrive when connected up seemed to be the original problem setting up,since loading channels reinstalled harddrive but box went back to bluescreen /blackscreen problem.emailed supplier waiting for answer maybe just an harddrive exchange(hope so anyway)will let you guys know how i get on cheers
Hi Don't think there is much porn on until late hours, then some don't clear. Have you tried changing around the ribbon cable round on the hard drive, or did the H/D come installed and connected as is?. If you are clearing the main Sly channels then the autoudate/emu is working at max so any that won't clear you won't see. jbvid

returned hard drive to supplier and he is sending replacement so hopefully will have fully functional box soon.still pleased with the channels i get but was wondering if i should be getting box office stuff or is that blocked get all other movie channels and sky sports but have noticed no box office and a channel for live events?will have to give it a good looking at to see what channels i actually get.thanks guys
In Ireland its called PPV Channel and in the UK I think its either called Events Channel or it might be listed as TV1700
hi guys happy with channels i,m receiving and just got hard drive back in post today,apparently i need to format it.anyway have tried using instructions but it doesnt seem to recognise hdd(main menu setup)tried just recording using red button and it says please format hard drive.so is my hard drive installed properly and just needs formatting or have i installed it wrong?any help would be most welcome,thanks joe
have just noticed little jumper type plug on hard drivefar right(is it in right place?)also when i go to hdd interface page then scroll down to format it asks me for pass(2007)then press ok to format writing comes on bottom screen hdd initializing(does this mean its formatting and just needs time(how long)or is there something else i need to do.thanks of to get my tea and watch football now so will leave it till tonight or tomorrow merry xmas and happy new year to all. joe
