Shoot 'Em Up appeared to have a similar protection I saw in Apocalypto. I used AnyDVD ripper for this movie and then Recode.

Chavo, why do you and others keep calling ANYDVD a ripper or copier when it's not?

it sits in the background and allows OTHER rippers or copiers to function on a copyrighted dvd

When people say they used ANYDVD, it would be nice if they also said what they were actually using to RIP or COPY the dvd

    yes it is a ripper

you mean it sits in the backgroud removing the protection so transcodes(not other rippers) like clonedvd 2 or dvd shrink can transcode the movie

anydvd is a ripper clonedvd 2 or dvd shrink are transcoders(clonedvd 2 has a burning engine also) then nero imgburn etc are the copiers

so anydvd does a couple things it runs in the background and removes the protection of the store bought dvd so clonedvd 2 or dvd shrink can transcode it. its also a ripper you can insert the store bought dvd into your drive and anydvd can rip it the the HD removing the copy protection

ripping = removing the protection from a store bought dvd. so yes anydvd is a ripper

    anydvd ripper vvvv

using the most up to date versions of clonedvd 2 + anydvd doing the movie only works, pick the first title of the two

Used latest dvdfabhd decrypter, anydvd, and shrink. Movie came out fine BUT there are no deleted scenes or making of featurette; something made decrypter remove these titles. Only the previews/trailers are intact as far as supplemental material goes. Weird.

    ZoSo's method worked for me.
It MUST be the LATEST versions of both AnyDVD and CloneDVD2.
I tried with older version combinations and not luck.

In CloneDVD2 you must select Copy Movie Titles (The 1st option).
then select the 1st title (movie title 1, not 3).
Then everything goes fine from there.

I downloaded the DVDFABHD the free one, copied the main movie to the HD, used Shrink to create the ISO then burned with Decrypter and the movie plays fine. I originally used ANYDVD in the background then proceeded to use Shrink and Decrypter but got a bad copy, about 20 mins in to the movie the audio and picture was (skipping). But the free version of fab did the trick, I also tried ripping the whole movie with Anydvd (right clicked the fox and then used Rip Video to Harddisk). Then used Shrink to make ISO then Decrypter to burn The result was a good copy of the movie but without deleted scenes etc.. :( O well I at least got the movie.... There you go guys try what I tried and you should get it copied too.....

    :)

doing the movie only solves alot of problems most the time being the heavier protection is hidden in the trailer, extras etc

I did not have any problems using DVDFab HD Decrypter ... my problem starts and finishes when I go to use dvdshrink. Is anyone having any problems shrinking it?? I have it burnt to my harddrive at the moment ... I want to shrink but cant ... any help??

Why can't you shrink it? Are you getting an error message? If so, what is it?

Lancmale what version of DVDFABHD did you use, at one point I had this problem and also had it with "3:10 to Yuma" but I successfully ripped & burnt both films. I also had problems with ripping all of the supplemental material but again I was able to successfully rip both discs. When I used anydvd + dvdfadhd on "Shoot Em Up" it omitted some of the extras but the newest version of dvdhdfad ripped the complete disc sucessfuly. When I used the newest version of dvdhdfad on "3:10 to Yuma" it wouldn’t let me shrink the film in DVDSHRINK but when I used ANYDVD (by itself) to rip the disc DVDSHRINK was able to do the necessary compression for a 4.5 disc.Footnote I chose to burn both with a 4.5 GB disc none of the extras were that good.

    "Shoot Em Up"

no problems with rip or burn just used the old...

DVDFab HD Decryptor - > DVDShrink -> ImgBurn

gonna get "3:10" this week and hopefully will also have no problems using same method...

And for a little added treat, don't forget to include the JACKET_P folder which seems to be making a comeback with some of the new releases.

once you've ripped with DVDFab....what option do you choose with Shrink to put it into imgburn? i've never done that method before.
