Should I buy the silver Sony PSP3000 Ratchet & Clank edition for hacking ?

I found a BB that still has the silver Sony PSP3000 - Limited Edition Ratchet and Clank PSP Entertainment Pack. Out of all the BB in my area this BB still has one model it's the oldest model I could find in stores, this model came out in Oct 2008.

Does anybody know if thats a good hackable model to play backups ?

Must I downgrade the firmware ? if so to what ? Do I have to mess around with the battery ?

Whats the best hack for this model ? What do I need ? I also saw that Datel has a lite blue battery for the psp3000 do I need that ?thanks

 

Avoid the 3000. You can use Custom Firmware enabler for this model, if you have firmware 5.03 or something like that. Look on eabay and find a 1000 or 1001. 3000 serious cannot run custom firmware, but if you are a low enough firmware then use what is stated above. The 3000 was the worst model for hacking.

 

I don't want a used psp I've had bad experience in the past. I believe that the psp Ratchet & Clank edition firmware is v5.0 does that mean I need to use Custom Firmware 5.03 GEN-A via ChickHEN R2 hack ? any other software hacks do I need ?

Also must I up/downgrade the firmware before using hacks ?

Can someone tell me about the battery must I do something to it ?

Actually the 3000 is the easiest to hack.

You don't need a MMS or a Pandora Battery.

You just need to download Chicken R2 and CFWe 3.6.

DON'T buy another crappy used psp 1001. The 3000 is awesome compared to the 1001, and it only has SOME current limitations in terms of hacking.

-Can't play games over USB (yet)
-Popsloader seems buggy 
-Hack is not permanent (need to reload it each time you reboot, but stays when put into sleep mode. It only takes a minute to do that hack anyway.)

Those suck, but you can still play ISOs and CSOs, homebrew, emulators, and use most plugins.

Do I use Iso's or cso's or both ? Do I put the Iso in a folder ? and what do I name it ? Can I put more than one Iso in a folder ? thanks

 

you can use both, they go into ISO folder, and you put as many can fit into said folder. ( Depends on size of memory stick )you use
