If you're looking for something solid the ipod is for you.
The sound quality that comes out of the ipod is amazing (it will be better then the Sony).I think if anybody is considering buying an mp3 or changing there current one the ipod is a good choice because companies make accessories for ipod cause about 50% of people have an ipod
    Example: www.ipodworld.com

Once you've got an ipod you can buy speakers, you can play it in you're car....and many other things

We’ll it depends what you want to use you’re ipod for.
If you want to use it to store big files and movies on it the 60 gig is good. I’ve got the 30 gig ipod and I use it for:
    Playing music 60%
    Watching movies 20%
Storing files 20 %( I remind you that if you've got precious files on you're computer, you can use the ipod as an external hard drive)

I too have the iPod Video and use it for:

    70% Music
    25% Video
    5% Photo's

Overall the iPod Video is a great device, but all the rumors say that they will be making a new iPod with a virtual click wheel in less than 3 months. After all it's been about 8 months since the iPod Video was released. (October 12th, 2005)

But there are facts proven too, and Apple hasn't made a new iPod in 8 months. Knowing Apple they will be releasing a new iPod in a matter of month's.

Well, nothing has been confirmed by Apple.

You could get a Fifth-Generation iPod, and Apple could announce a sixth generation iPod the next day. On the other hand, you could wait.. and wait.. and wait some more.

If you want an iPod, go out and purchase one. Otherwise you could be waiting on something that may not be coming for a long time.

It will be a while before I dish out another $399 plus tax for another Ipod, currently I have the black 60GB version which will take me 10 years to fill it up with videos and music, the 30GB version would have been more then enough but ohh well, live and learn........
