I'd go with Clonedvd2 / Anydvd combo or you can always go the free route with DVD Fab Decrypter Vob Blanker and Dvd Shrink
I don't know, I have never used it, I just stick to the freeware (DVDFab, Vob Blanker, DVD Shrink), I've heard nothing, but good things about CloneDVD though...

I would take some time as suggested and look at other programs which are cheaper, updated more frequently (anydvd would be a prime example)and standout for the customer support. Anydvd is somewhat of a software driver that runs in the background and bypasses the encryptions which are used by media conglomerates to deter piracy. With each new encryption found anydvd updates within 3-5 days. A 21 day trial period is offered with anydvd if you wisg to try it (works with almost every dvd backup program...more specifically with clonedvd2 distributed by the same company). Also lifetime updates once you purchase it. Vob Blanker, FixVTS, dvdfab decrypter are free alternatives to use (Vob Blanker and FIXVTS work with anydvd) to backup recently purchased dvds you wish to archive. Enough banter from me do a search here on Afterdawn for the programs I mentioned to research for yourself. P.S. Did you notice which program I mentioned several times .
The only thing that's even making me look at this program instead of just going with clonedvd is the fact that it says you can backup your backups. Can clonedvd2 do this? It doesn't list it as one of the features. Guess I'm just one of those guys who's holding on to the dream of 321 coming back. MATT: Thanks for the input, yeah I tried out AnyDVD and the CloneDVD2 combo today. It worked great. I really loved anydvd and how it runs in the background automatically. I like how CloneDVD2 shows you footage of what you might want to cut out of the film (trailers and stuff)
Looks like another re-vamp of X-copy products, the special offer to previous X-copy owners is a dead giveaway! You will probably have to activate it too, that is yet another disaster waiting to happen. When you have to activate you are not in control of the situation. I re-format every 6 or so months, I would use up my allocation quickly, then have to contact customer service, even though I have already paid for it! That is not the way to go. Just get CloneDvd2 & AnyDvd, they are WAY superior products, & once you have your reg keys you are sorted! I loved my X-copy, but it is outdated & I object to having to activate every time I re-format. I never use it now.... @ owvp, you can back up your back ups with Slysofts' software. The X-copy dream is just that, a dream. Move on with SlySoft & forget X-copy.
Hi, @owvp702, No problem. If you used the dynamic duo (anydvd w/ clonedvd2) give it a shot to see if you can backup the one you made. My advice is to invest in a few dvdrw and give it a shot while you still have time on the trial period. I personally don't copy from 1 disc to another as I find copying to the hard drive first then burn. Less chance of corruption in the ripped files. Oops another valuable tip...any software that updates, re-packages and does not offer the upgrade for free is not necessarily a software I would spend money on when there are cheaper alternatives.
well, I just gave in and purchased both anydvd and clonedvd2. Even though I loved xcopy platinum I don't like the fact that they got busted for their product and now want me to pay $70 for their new one and it doesn't include a ripper (since that's illegal) Clone and anydvd only cost $59 and functioned great together. I think I'll be happier with them.

what if I wanna install this program on my other computer? I can do that right? I currently have this program installed on my laptop but my desktop has a faster/better dvd burner.
Since your "original" copy has had the protections removed, you can drag and drop to the desktop then burn with whichever DVD burning program you want to use.
Yes owvp702 as long as you have the software keys you can install on as many pcs as you want. You paid for the software and no registering thru the web to install elsewhere.
Like I said, once you have your Reg keys you are sorted. Just install in your laptop too! No worries. Whatever you do, don't pass the reg keys to your pals, SlySoft do a great job, & need every penny to keep up the good work they do, without them, most here would be screwed!
@owvp702, to answer your question: Can CloneDvd 2 copy your back-ups? Yes, but again it goes back to the type of media (brand, quality) and then there is no problem. I had a few cheap media that I used for a few backups in the beginning and clonedvd 2 recognized them and there was no problem backing them up on better media. I agree with the gang here at ad...clonedvd 2 and anydvd are a great combo and a great price as well. Happy burning. MovieDud
I've got ANYDVD Aand CLONE on all 5 of my computers and those two programs out weigh all the money I spent by about 20 to 1.No more paying for updates and great programs.
man you guys have got me so amped up on this software I'm ready to go home and start backing up all my dvd's just to play with the program! WAHOO!
As far as backing up backups.. As long as you're copying a DVD5 ot DVD5 or DVD9 to DVD9 backup.. All you need to use is DVD Decrypter ISO READ ISO WRITE ... but yes you can go from a DVD9 backup to a DVD5 Backup.. with Clonedvd
