I just purchased a new AV receiver and, in an effort to improve PQ/SQ, I am considering upgrading my Toshiba 1800 DVD player to something along the lines of a Denon 1910. My only concern is that while the Toshiba plays virtually everything I throw at it, a higher quality DVD player such as the Denon, might not be able to(properly)play backed up movies. My backups are always done with very little compression using AnyDVD and Clone DVD and burned onto good quality discs.
Can someone please comment on this.
    Thanks

The old saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it" I vote to stay with the old Toshiba. I love that unit and it works fine. Denon is a very good upgrade. What you can do if you really want the Denon is take a few discs to the retailer and try them out. Any store that won't let you should be left as soon as possible. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
