I am currently running Dark Alex 3.40 OE on my PSP. Is upgrading to Dark Alex 3.80 M33 worth it? Will I be able to keep everything, like all of my saved games from 3.40? What are the benefits? Also I just got into playing PSX games on my PSP, can both homebrews play multiple disc games? Thanks!

I agree with the above poster, 3.71m33-4 with seplugins works the best. I tried 3.80-m33-4 and -5 and Final Fantasy 7 worked on m33-4 but not on 5. And Resident evil 2 wouldn't play at all on 3.80 Dark Alex just released 3.90 m33 so am about to try it and see if it works, i'll post back in about 30 mins.

Ok, Thanks. With that would I need the First 1.50 Kernel add on and M33 PopsLoader or does 3.71-4 come with the PopsLoader? I would need the 1.50 Kernel for gpSP.

sorry i 4got about posting back. I tried psx games but both resident evil 2 and final fantasy 7 both froze/crashed on 3.90. So back to 3.71 m33-4 for me. I just wish I could use it with my ps3

you only need the update, you can d/l the kernel if available, but sometimes depending upon what you need it for, it is not necessary.

If you're wanting to upgrade to an M33 the best one in my opinion was 3.52 M33-4. Ran better than all of them, if you want to play some of the bran newer PSP games though, I'd say go with 3.71M33

Do You have Popsloader installed on your PSP, when you d/l the mee-4 update, there is a folder in there called "seplugins" You should copy that folder over to the root folder on the psp, example: E:\ (E is the PSP drive letter)

The reason you are not able to use it with your ps3 using 3.71 m33-4 is because Sony's website will make you Upgrade to official Firmware before you can access it with your ps3. I tried the other nite and I got a message that said something like "you PSP needs to be updated. please follow the PSP direction on upgrading your firmware."

So if I run custom FW I am screwed to remote play and remote media access to my PS3?

not exactly, i had read that 3.80 m33-4 would work with remote play, however, hearing that sony released 3.90, you can upgrade to 3.90 m33 and that should allow you to run on the PS3. As far as compatibility with psx games, check the list of games to see what works. I already said that Final Fantasy 7 and RE 2 and prolly RE 3 won't work above 3.71 m33-4
    Compatibility List: PSX on PSP-

Ok, I don't think I have any interest in playing PSX games only newer iso's made specifically for the PSP.

One other thing, can I run store bought UMD's on a 3.80-M33 machine? What about the updating? Or, Am I screwed to play any bought games without changing firmware?

I wouldn't update from a store bought UMD tho, just update using custom firmware.
