I know most of you guys know this, but for you newbs, make sure that you dont use Kazaa because its illegal. Its illegal if you download the copyrighted music. In the rules of Kazaa the company protects themself from all the laws but not you so watch out. The only legal thing is to share your own music with other people and let other people hear it. I didnt know about this until i got my ipod though. I just wanted everybody to know about the free downloading being illegal and everything so nobody has any problems with the law. Im here to help :).

I dont think it is "illegal" until you save it and /or record it.
This is a kicker for movies.

is there any way to actually prove that something was done without "fraudulent intent"? seems to me like that's one bottomless pit of court cases just ready to be made.

It is illegal to download FREE music and burn it onto a CD, or to put it on your mp3. It is illegal because that means that you are taking money away from the companies and the copyrighted material. Kazaa clearly states that you can't download copyrighted material, which means IT IS ILLEGAL. If you want to download music legally you have to pay about 99 cents for each download. Use itunes to do that.

Keep it under $1000 and do not remove the notice. Seems to be safe.

They can not get us all. They are not loosing any money with me. Most movies just are not worth the amount they want. There are few movies I would watch over and over.

The RIAA targets college kids downloading pop music for the most part.So the avg. guy downloading older rock on winmx being caught is pretty much nill.theres 200 million people on the net so the RIAA cant only target a few.and you must have a very large number of files too be targeted.

I agree. At 99 cents to pick and choose your music why take the risk. Now movies?

BTW ... I was kidding. I think most know it's illegal to download music if your not paying for it. But that is still not going to stop people.

I was more poking fun at your statement. Again I think most people already know :)
