shrek2 on ps2

i have tried to backup my copy of shrek 2 for my ps2 and for some reason the game wont play have backed up loads of my other games and never had this problem. i was wondering if any one new why this was.

 

Shrek 2 requires the cd loader to boot the game. Get it at http://www.swapmagicfix.com

 

used the swap magic disc and the game titles come up but then it goes off and says please insert a playstation 2 disc. any ideas.

 

I dont have this game but the swapmagicfix site says that this game has a double disc check thus you need a CD Loader disc to boot it. Do you know about CD loader? Check out the site. All those games are possible antiswapmagic disc games that might need the CD loader to bypass the check.

 

thanks for that no i dont know about the cd loader discs downloaded them from the site u gave me but what do i do with them now sorry for sounding so stupid but never come across anything like this b4.

 

download CD loader from that site. Burn the image to a CD-R. Use your swap magic CD disc to boot the CD loader disc. press eject and put in your swap magic DVD disc. When the icon on the bottom left of the screen says DVD disc then press X. Wait for the screen to say swap using EA method. Now you do the swap trick with your Shrek disc. Your game should load fine now.

 

please excuse my ignorance but ive burned the file to a cdr using nero but the ps2 wont accept the disc what nam i doing wrong please help this is turning into a nightmare

 

will shrek 2 and all ps2 games work on a chipped ps2 or do i still have to have the swap magic cdloader?

 

you not only need cdloader, you need to choose no pn, after you have swapped the swap cd for cd loader and pressed x, press x again with cd loader in and a sub screen will come up, choose no pn and press x, then carry on in the normal way and it will work, the screen still goes blank for 5 seconds after the dreamworks logo but then boots and plays fine...

 

cant get my cdloader i downloaded to work tho am i burning it wrong or something?

 

what version ps2 do you have?

 

In order to burn the .bin .cue CD Loader I recommend the following: Download Clone CD and Daemon Tools. Once you have both setup you can use the virtual drive provided by Daemon Tools. Mount your image with Daemon then open Clone CD and choose copy CD button. Pick your virtual drive, use the game settings, copy on the fly setting, then choose your recorder and speeds. The Disc should load for you booting it with Swap Magic CD 2.0 or 3.0.

 

I have tried using the CD Loader, but it did not work, the only thing I havn't done that has been suggested here is the no PN thing, what is that anyway.

I have an exact 1:1 backup of Shrek2 PAL Version (original disc and backup disc both exactly the same size).

When I try to boot it up with Swap Magic DVD 2.0, it loads the dreamworks and other advertising screens, then freezes with a black screen.

When I try to boot it up by using Swap Magic CD 3.0, then the CD Loader for Shrek2 form www.swapmagicfix.com, then through the Swap Magic DVD 2.0, then the Game backup disc, it still plays the advertisments and the Dreamworks segment, then the screen flashes red, then yellow, then freezes on a black screen.

I have so far had 8/8 game backups work perfectly until now.

I am using a Slide Card, my Flip top case is on the way. (PS2 Version 9)

Just noticed that on www.swapmagicfix.com that the shrek2 fix says usa next to it, does that mean it will not work for the PAL version?

Can anybody help me?

Have tried everything now, loads dreamworks and other advertising, then checks for ps2 original disc again (PAL Version), how can I get around this?

you need to select the 5v3 no pn option to get to this option when cd loader boots press x,scroll up/down,then press x again(returns you to cd loader screen)

 

same here ive tried the cdloader with no luck ive burned it several different ways, today im trying the dvdloader of which still seems to come up with nothing i have a version 9 ps2.....please help swmg dvd version usa version 2.0 build

 

coke4me what do you mean when you say dvd loader does nothing? do you mean it wont boot,it wont load,what program did you burn it with?

 

dh it doesnt load form the start, i used nero and dvd decryptor it just turns to the pink border it never loads...basically it freezes up any ideas dh its a version 9 ntsci could never get cd loaderv7 to work either.....

I am fresh out of ideas.

I have tried :

Copy Original disc with Nero (Has worked for my other 8 Games).
Start with Swap Magic CD Version, then Swapmagicfix.com shrek2 loader disc (which I have since noticed is USA)(I have a PAL game and system).
Insert Swap Magic DVD Version, then Game disk.

I have also tried :

Copied same as above
Start with Swap Magic DVD Version
Insert DVD Loader disc
Re Insert Swap Magic DVD Version
Insert game

Both these methods resulted in the dreamworks and other advertising being played and then the backup freezing with a yellow screen.

I have tried Swap Magic DVD then Game backup disc
This reulted in the dreamworks and other advertising being played and then the game freezing with black screen.

I have no idea how to beat this, so please if someone else does, let me know.
