    i have a problem with using dvd shrink, Now im able back them up and burn them but the problem comes when i goto play it in a dvd player, it says invaild disk. But if i was to put in to my computer it plays no problem. What am i doing wrong?

    I am using nero to burn them, Dvd shrink to rip them, and if shrink wont do it, im using ripit4me.

    using nero 8.1.1.4
    And dvdshrink.

    any in-sight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Does your standalone player normally accept the type of disk you are burning - DVD-R or DVD+R.
    Are you burning at too high a speed - try burning at 4x maximum.
    Use only known reliable disks - 'Verbatim' is good.

    yes, it always accepts them, i have over 200 movies, all on Phillips dvds and have never had a problem until recently when i reformatted my computer, As well, i have burned them all at the same speed.

    Nero 8 maybe your problem. Try Nero 7 if u still have it.

    What do these code out? Use dvdidentifier, just do a search for it.
    If they code as CMC MAG...toss 'em and upgrade as Attar suggested.

    I've found Nero 8 to be somewhat problematic (as Father iluvendo stated) although others swear by it. *shrugs* Revert if neccessary.

    Also...newer movies may require something more updated than Shrink or RI4M...like DvdFab Hd Decrypter.

    Some standalone's can be picky about quality of media, media format (+R versus -R) and how fast it was burned.
