I have several different burning software on my PC ( DVD Copy 3,Clone DVD2 & DVD Shrink )

I've noticed that when I try opening Shrink to use it, it won't open when I click the desktop icon.

What I've had to do to make it work is uninstall shrink & then re-install it onto my PC.

Anyone else encounter this problem ??????

Also same problem w/ DVD Decrypter........

Also have Region Free+CSS, & AnyDVD running on my computer......

try to uninstall regionfree and CSS. AnyDVD will do the same things that both of these programs do. This may clear up your problem as AnyDVD tries to "dominate" other programs that have the same function sometimes.

that's a strange issue you're having here. Never seen a computer that Shrink just would not open at all on. Maybe you got a corrupt download?? Try to download it again from http://dvdshrink.org

Decrypter won't open either?? That's just weird. I don't know what to say about that, I've never heard of that problem before let alone on 2 different pieces of software.

Where did you download these programs from?

Have you checked for viruses on your computer lately?

    A guess!

The Data Execution Prevention (DEP) feature in Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005, and Windows Server 2003, when combined with certain new processors can stop some programs from running.

I know it can stop DVD Shrink from running and it may also stop DVD Decrypter from running though I don't know that for sure.

    Processors.
AMD Athlon 64, Athlon FX and Opteron.
    Intel Xeon and newer Pentiums.
    To name a few.

Normally you should get an error message like this, though many times people who have problems running a program because of DEP report they get no error message.
The best option is to get a newer version of the program that works correctly with DEP. This is not possible with DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter.

If your computer is set to apply DEP to all programs and services, the DEP error message will have a Change Settings button. If an update to the program is not available, follow these steps to add an exception for the program from the DEP error message:
    1. When you receive the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section, click Change Settings.
    2. Click to select the check box next to the program, and then click Apply.
    3. When you are prompted to restart your computer, click OK two times, and then restart your system.

If you do not get an error message.
You can also add an exception for the program by using System Properties in Control Panel. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.
    2. Click the Advanced tab, click Performance, and then click Settings.
    3. In Performance Options, click the Data Execution Prevention tab, and then click Add.
    4. In the Open dialog box, locate and then click the program.
    5. Click Open, click Apply, and then click OK. When you are prompted to restart your computer, click OK.

Shrink & Decrypter have been working fine on my PC until I installed DVD Copy 3 & AnyDVD.

I even tried disabling both AnyDVD & Copy 3 and still same problem.

    Frustrating............

I've read on Slysoft's site that AnyDVD can conflict with Intervideo products. I have used both together and not experienced any problems, but you may have some conflicts there. Try to uninstall one or the other.
