Just a quick query, been using DVD Shrink for about twomonths and its been fine, had a virus on my machine and ended up having to reformatt my hard drive, as a result lost all my programs, so I downloaded DVD Shrink again and everytime i go to use it now I get a message that states "cannot read from disk, sector is encypted" just wondered if anyone knew the reason for this, also DVD Decrypter keeps asking me to change my region settings, yet my region isnt available, any help would be gratefully recieved.
Di dyou reinstall your ASPI layer after the crash? If you are running XP, this is not automatically installed. Good luck...
ok, i have updated my aspi layer, and it is still giving me the same message, "cannot read from file, the sector is encrypted" i have never had this problem before.
jinkus, download trial versions of anydvd and clone dvd, they work together. Anydvd works in the background to decrypt. It also removes region codes. Clonedvd does the ripping and burnback. If these work, I think you have a bad download of shrink. I haven't found a dvd shrink couldn't decrypt yet, but there may be some out there. Jerry
Think i have found the problem, my DVD Rom was region protected to Region 1, most of the dvd's im burning are Region 2, so I have disable RPC on the drive and it seems to have worked, but it does take alot longer to encode than it used to which is abit of a git.
Use this region free/ Decryption tool called AnyDVD which will make your DVD Rom drive region free, thus speeding up your ripping.
