Right, i'm getting a computer for Christmas and i have got Nero 6 and i'll have DVD Shrink on a cd. After i install them i want to rip a cd and shrink it to about 400meg, (If this is possible) and burn to a CD-R that will play on a DVD Player. To do this, do i need to make it AVI? And if yes how do i go about doing this? Thanks.
Hello..bizarre20..Why would U want to take all that time to compress a movie to fit on a CD when DVD Blanks are so cheap [excuse me inexpensive]..Believe me it takes hours instead of mins..but U can do it.U have to convert to KVCD..IT DOES HAVE GOOD QUALITY..but not DVD quality..the only advantage is for internet sharing..& personaly i prefer divx, avi, xvid Shop wisely & U can get good quality DVD's for 30 to 40 cents One more thing anything less then about 650 to 700Mgs is going to be very poor quality When I was burning SVCD [prehistoric days]I would always use overburn for 800Mgs
Hello..bizarre20..Did U not read my post..in order for it to fit on a CD U have to convert it to a different format like KVCD For it to fit on one Disc..at around 750mg for a fair quality Disc or SVCD for it to fit 2 Discs..Why can't U just burn it to a DVD& ENJOY the better Quality U can't just burn it U have to Rip the DVD to your HDD then use VirtualDub to seperate the audio & video..Then use TMPGEnc to convert [compress]it,so as to be able to fit a CD..THEN U will need the templates for KVCD CD's & ADD them to TMPG then U have to burn it with Nero or another burning program that supports VCD type Disc's..Believe me when i say hrs..i have a 2.1ghrz..& it take any where frm 7 to 12 hrs just to convert if U decide to go this route for what ever reason just post here & Ill get back to U & WILL SEND u THE templates for KVCD Your a wonder!!everybody else wants DVD U want CD's..wonder what the hell is next,,just a joke don't take it wrong..we all help one another here & if this is what u want this is what U get Go here knock yourself out.. http://www.videohelp.com/tmpgencsvcd.htm After U have learned all u can,you will definetly enjoy DVD's instead of CD's
