    Hello,

Have a problem with my daughter's Shuffle. It began with her being unable to add a new song (there was plenty of memory left). It hung in sync mode and ate up CPU. I had to get out using Task Manager, and I got an error message that the "disc could not be found".

Both the software for the shuffle and iTunes are up-to-date. I ran diagnostics, with the message "one or more sync tests failed".

I attempted to restore the shuffle, but that hung for 10 minutes with the scrolling bar, and I had to use task manager again to get out. Checked shuffle, and it wasn't restored.

It's possible to listen to the songs that are on there; just not possible to add new ones. Maybe the shuffle went bad?

FWIW, I defrag and clean up my computer on a regular basis. I don't have much expertise with ipods; I prefer my CDs on a stereo :)

Thanks for any help anyone can offer,

    Liz
