i think aD should shut down Blasteroids becuase i decided to chech it out, first off, aD accounts dont work there, second there is on 1 tab in the Forums page that has more than 100 threads. they should shut it down and put all there strength into 1 big site, this is only my opinion and i am not a hater, im just trying to improve this site. BTW, aD looks alot cooler that blasteroids. blasteroids doesnt have as many customization opitions as aD.
They don't work on it, there is like no one there anymore. It would be cool if there was more people.
We don't exactly have enough resources to focus on all the things at once in development sense. Now we've finally finished with Filepedia.com and we're already working on a new version of Blasteroids.com which will launch in fall 2005 and will feature news, downloads, etc stuff you'd expect from a gaming site from aD team. The current Blasteroids.com is quite unfortunate project that we never had time to "finish", but things have changed quite dramatically over the last 2 years (these new terms like "planning a project" and "sustainable development" have been added to our dictionary..).

I am a user of Blasteroids as well as AD. and i pefer AD cause it is an overall better set up and covers everything mayb somethin like blasteroids should b accessinle for console users when they live play or somethin like that Im not using blasteroids as much as AD and the posts are ancient at blasteroids soo i dont know if anyone uses it?? ive posted but noo msg so far but AD everyday i get somethin new just a suggestion
@ solargame : did you just look and say what a waste or did you actually peruse the site and have a read of the articles.I think the latter with you otherwise you wouldnt be so quick to spout this nonsense.Some of the articles that interest me were very good while others not to bad........... But this is only my opinion after all
@ andmerr, no i was acually on the site for like 2 hours, i couldent find anything interesting. nearly none of the threads had more than 10 posts in them, and like borhan9 said, the threads were really old. im not hating, im just trying to make aD a better place. BTW, why cant our usernames and passwords work on aD sister site.
@solargame ok. The way u use ur AD info is go 2 sign up as a new user and when u get the next page u get a thing u can click on and it puts in all ur AD info and u just click submit and thats that. Generally on the other hand the website is a good one but the post need to b more up to date rather than the look or general format its just needs to b used more that what it is. I love gaming but the info is ancient, thats all update it and it will b great. thanxs

So, basically for you, aD would have been useless site back in 2001 when we had about 5 threads in each forum room? I've never heard about those, but I assume that some of you know those forums that have already about half a million discussion threads when they get launched? Would be better way than to launch with none threads, I agree, apologies.
Opinions are one thing, being disrespectful is another. And i doubt that you would consider applying yourself by contributing anything of value either to enhance the quality of this forum(man i've seen some of your posts) To make a site successful, you have to be good at what you do and have members that are willing to go the extra yard.dRD has that with his team. Let me pose a question to you solargame. DO you really consider that you have contributed to AD by your presence , posts , help ? How have you helped improve blasteroids? To dRD: I KNOW TIME is always an issue when maintaining a site as big as this.Maybe you are right and a revamp is neccessary time permitting but i have been a member on this forum since August 2002 and i can only see good things . i've only been here since mid January and haven't got round to half the stuff that's here yet as there's so many posts & noobs in just the DVD sections to keep me busy; i keep trying to break out into the PC/PS2 forums but there's not enough hours in the day. Therefore I haven't even come across blasteroids yet. Thanks for making afterdawn such a successful and interesting site..
andmerr: Thanks. I think we've managed to build / gather darn good team of admins, mods and regular users here and have managed to create one place that provides all the information from one, quite small, niche of IT -- digital multimedia. What we aim to do, is simply to expand our experience of 6 years in running a site to a new site that covers games. IMO, this is logical step as console and console tech discussion/news are already a major part of aD. Within aD, I think a section dedicated to games, reviews, hints, etc would get lost quickly and become a yet another "how to backup this game" forum rather than taking it from totally different angle. And so far, we have unfortunately failed to do this with Blasteroids -- the reason is quite simple: we haven't had resources to pour to Blasteroids due aD taking so much time. But as things have progressed, we now seem to have bit more time and determination to make it "happen" and plan to do so. Basically the idea is to feed site's traffic by news, downloads, etc and this time around, get few moderators to forums as well who can help us out promoting the site (specially on aD's forums to drive relevant traffic to Blasteroids as well). So, the plan is there, the reality will happen hopefully around September this year as the "v2.0" gets ready after our summer holidays All feedback is always appreciated, but as my above post probably indicates, stupid remarks without any suggestions on how to improve a situation that is problematic, are quite pointless. i have just undergone the same kind of cleaning on the other site to make it more user friendly. Although initally it was just me it helps to have friends who are willing to help out with problems that crop up from time to time. dRD IF YOU REALLY want to make blasteroids a success maybe you need to relegate nephilim our favorite mod to blasteroids.Where he goes the multitudes do seem to follow.(just make sure you dont tell him i suggested it otherwise i think that ban button will be coming into play very shortly..............) I havent been to blasteroids in a while but will be looking forward to the revamp and added extras that you seem to know that we always as members like and more often or not take for granted. later andmerr
come on andmerr, now you make me feel like i shouldnt have even made this thread, and like i said before im not trying to shut it down for my interest, i did it so the team of aD and whatever could focus more on aD, it seems that blasteroids has been on a pretty long time and no progress has been made. P.S. What do you meen by "ive seen some of you posts before"? I would just be delighted by what you meant by that. and when i said i was on for 2 hours and didnt find anything interesting, i meant i didnt find anything in my interest. I mean aD is an [bold]MIND BLOWING[/bold] website, if you go to the bottom of the page, there is almost always been at least 2000 people online, that is AMAZING. never have i seen an instance where that number has dropped below 2000,(for me).
solargame Your contradicting yourself! You just went on about how aD is such a great site, and how many members are on at all times....then you say aD should shutdown blasteroids so they can focus more attention on the site you just stated was so great....make up your mind. So aD should shut down blasteroids just because solargame doesn't see anything useful on it?...c'mon on now get real. I'm not much of a gamer, so I haven't been on that site in quite awhile,but I like the fact that it's there, in case I do decide to become a gamer.And since you say theres nothing there....what harm is it in keeping it?
