Shut-down of Computer when starting Burn

I have been using this Burner LG GSA 2154D since march of 2006.. great Burner.. But Today

trying to backup the Lake House( also I have tryed other Dvds, That had b-4, been no problem to back-up) All now do not Work

Used Any DVD(6.0.8.5)
Using Shrink 3.2
Any DVD is Good
Shrink is good for the Back-up
Once Shrink asked for the new disk, within a few seconds, My puter shuts down.

I have not adde any new software or hardware since my last using the backup for my last DVD

There seems to be an issue with the latest update to AnyDVD during or at the beginning of the write process (the pc will restart). If you can, revert back to the previous version of AnyDVD 6.0.8.2 (you should still have the download, I keep all of mine just in case). Worst case, you can use the latest beta version of DVDFab decrypter (make sure you disable AnyDVD when using it) to rip with then manually burn to disk using your app of choice until the issue is fixed.

You could also try using shrink with anydvd to rip with, but don't use the autoburn function. Once the files have been ripped to your hard drive try disabling anydvd and manually burn to disk using nero or DVDdecrypter.

 

I do not have the 8.2, and when I go to any dvd, and try the 8.2, it gives me 8.5.. If you can please send me 8.2 to [removed] Thanks

hi may have started new thread by accident. heres my prob. using newest anydvd version 6.0.8.5 and shrink. all works well until i go to backup tab in shrink, click on and computer shuts down. thought the lastest windows updates caused this and removed them. also noticed that trying to restore system to earlier date failed. any other out there with same prob and quick-fix? not a computer savy guy, just movie, email and limited internet user. help please and happy thanksgiving??? bp

 

AnyDVD 6.0.8.5 seems to be causing problems. Reinstall 6.0.8.2 and see if that solves your problem. Or do a system restore to before you updated to 6.0.8.5. See the link above to download 6.0.8.2 if you don't have it.

 

It has to be the anydvd, mine just started doing it too. I was worried my burner was causing it. I love this website.

 

Check your RAM. If you have 2 sticks take 1 out and retry. If the problem persists take out RAM and install other stick and retry.

 

yah mine is doing the same thing, i get through the encoding process, but as soon as it get to the burning part it kicks me out to a blue screen of DEATH. Saying its a ram issue, im not that computer savy, but i know its the AnyDVD that i just DL from their web site, did anyone else notice when they were finished DL it that you had to reboot your computer, first time that i can recall having to do this after getting the newest version.

 

Yup, reboot was required for the lastest AnyDVD update. It happens occasionally.

I haven't had any of the issues discussed here. I also don't do auto-burn after encoding either though. Have been shrinking and burning all weekend as well with no undesireable effects.

 

there is now a fix to the anydvd problem that was in the last update (.5). anydvd has put out a new one today (.8). install this update & your problem will go away>

 

not software related, but i had the same thing happen when my power supply started going bad..as soon as it started spinning it up to write...boom..PC just rebooted every time..took me foever to figure it out then i got a new power supply and problem was solved
