I’ am sick of this game. I feel like a rabbit, they show me the carrot I’ am off running as soon as I get close They pull the carrot up and dangle it just out of reach. Sorry for the metaphor but that pretty much sums up the way I feel they have treated us. Valve can take a few pointers from ID Soft they stated that Doom 3 world be out on 08/03/04 and it was!!!!! Then didn’t renege on there promises. I understand that there were circumstances beyond there control but they have milked that excuse dry. At this point I just don’t care to hear any more stories, this game has turned into an other Duke Nukem Forever. I am just disgusted at this point.

The difference is that iD never said when Doom III would be released, they always said it would be ready when it's ready. No firm date was ever set until they were sure it was ready.

Valve on the other hand always promises a date that they think they can make and then when they don't make it they set another date. Valve has always been late, look at CS:CZ. It was put back time after time too until it finally came out last spring.

Myself I take any release date with a grain of salt. I don't believe it until I have my hands on it. It has always been that way in the gaming industry and probably will be worse in the future with production times increasing on the newer games. I remember several even 12 years ago that promised the same. Strike Commander from the same people that did Wing Commander was supposed to be out by Christmas in 1992 and they had even taken a full page magazine ad out for months saying that date in the ad. It didn't come out until the next Christmas, a year late.

Xian, check out the BattleCruiser series, bad timing, bad games. Hell, look at the latest BattleCruiser game. A 40 fusking page manual, and around 10 hours to memories your whole keyboard for each mode. And then, when you finally do all that stuff, you realise the game isn't that good, simply because it's a "Everything that we can cram in" game, and they haven't done a good job of it. And then you realise it's still as buggy as hell. Finally, you scream.

Anyway, as for the Half Life 2 delay... hmm, ever heard of that Source Code theft? Plus, if Half Life 2 was released on the original release date, our graphics card wouldn't even handle it that well. Good thing I got my X800 now huh =D

You mean Half Life right? Because Half Life 2 isn't even out yet.
