where EXACTLY did you put the splitter?

If you put it on the satellite input coming into the reciever, take it off. you CANNOT split a satellite feed like that.

If you have only have one box, run a short cable out of the "Out To TV" port on the back, put your splitter on the end of it and then run two lines out of the splitter, one to your main TV the other to your room and take the amplifier off. A Satellite signal is not the same as a cable-TV or OTA antenna. You can't split it willy nilly and have it work. This is the ONLY way to run two TV sets off of one DirecTv reciever, the downside is, whatever that box is tuned to, that's what you'll be watching on both TV's. If you want to watch different programs then you'll need a seceond box.

I am running the out to tv to the spliter then to both tvs.
I want to see the same thing on both tvs so thats no problem
but without the amplifier its even fuzzyer the amp is on the cable that goes to my other tv not the main one or the sat.
basicly i think everythings hooked up right i just wish i could have a bit better quality.thanks for the help.

What kind of amp are you using. Sats use a different frequency than cable tv so the amps are different. Also make sure the cable is RG6. RG59 for cable tv will work for short runs but may loose signal over a long run or when split.

Im using RG 6 but it says its for cable does that matter?
and im using a cable amp but it helps. so im very confused.
and you do understand i want to watch the same thing on both tvs so all i need to amplifiy is the out to tv which is like channel 4 right??

The RG 6 is good. Yes I understand what you are doing (both tvs getting the same channel). If you have a weak signal off the dish itself, you need an inline amp they make for sats. It powers up off the sat cable and goes inline between the dish and receiver. The square box type amps for cable tv might help but can only go in line on the output of the receiver to the splitter. That may help boost your signal to both TV's.

An inline amp won't do any good with a "fuzzy" picture because the signal he is splitting is coming directly out of the reciever, and it is digital, meaning it is either "on" or its "off". The problem is either in hte cable run itself, but since you are using RG6, most likely that is not it. I'm pointing more toward your splitter. Look on your splitter and see what it is rated for in terms of Mhz frequency. If is only for up to 900Mhz, dump it, and find one that goes up to about 2150-2300Mhz roughly, AND that has "All ports power Pass" labeled on it. I'll bet ya my last doughnut it is the splitter you are using. With RG6 and a 20 foot cable run you won't lose enough signal to make the picture fuzzy. Not til you start going over 100ft runs will you begin to lose signal and need some kind of amplifier such as a Zinwell 4x8 powered multi-switch. So take the amp off completely, and look into getting a new splitter because that's where your problem is. Guaranteed. Or it's the TV itself. Maybe something wrong with the coax jack on the back, picking up cross-interference or something. If your picture is fine on the main tv it should be the same thing on the other.
