I've noticed significant color(gamma) loss when writing on DVD-R. I was burning on 4x speed, shouldn't be a problem I think. Is it something wrong with my media or am I doing things incorrectly? Sorry for the dumb question. Here the log:
Hi there, Here's a stupid question right back at you Your burner has firmware [bold]v2.0d[/bold] The latest I can find for this drive is [bold]v1.0d[/bold] It guess it's a brand new drive ? Are you using Microsoft IDE Drivers, or have a weird motherboard with weird drivers ? Seems it can't find the ATAPI.SYS driver, usually loaded. *OR* is it installed externaly (USB, Firewire etc...) ?? Just read your post again, that Sony is on port HA3 so I guess it is external. Nice, I know that ain't the problem
Yep, brand new External Double/Dual Layer and Dual Format DVD Burner Sony DRX-810UL. Got it from sonystyle.com website one month ago. I've burned only 1 DVD so far and currently trying to figure out why am I losing color? Talking about everything else quality is excellent, no skiping what so ever, vertical positioned drive may scratch disc(s) depends how handy you are, problem with me is that I have really huge hands and sometimes it is difficult for me to insert it correctly so you better put it in horizontal and be sure that disc won't get scratch. The only thing that comes on my mind why am I losing quality is that my media might be bad or defected. I'm using DVD-R from Sony (50 discs pack) Here is the link: http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INT...ies_CD/DVDBurn_MediaforCD/DVDBurners_DVDMedia For reference my drive is here: http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INT...=cpu_Sony_PCAccessories_CD/DVDBurn_DVDBurners
What movie? I have the same burner, same firmware but use TYs and Sony DVD+Rs (booktyped) and have not experenced this problem.
