    Yes, I use Recode 80% of the time, I do use DVD Rebuilder if I am doing higher compressed movies.

    @arniebear

    Nice little guide there buddy, keep up the good work.

    @newbies or those needed helps

    Well, since a lot of newbies (members) are having issues left to right, I thought I'll just throw in a very basic guide "DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker" for those that are clueless and or needed helps.

    **NOTE: The guide has been tested and it worked -- matter of fact, I've tested both ways, in combo with VobBlanker and without. Nero Recode 2 can handle the job either way easily. However, if you're the few (like me) that like to BLANK out junks from your movie/dvds, then it's wise to post process with VobBlanker, plus it helps to correct any minor structures.

    **NOTE: I'm using DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.8.3 and it took 18 minutes to rip SILENT HILL (US, Region 1)

    <<< STEP 1: Rip the movie using DVDFAB Decryptery >>>

    [IMG]

    <<< STEP 2: Process the VIDEO_TS.IFO file through VobBlanker >>>

    **NOTE: for this movie, I blanked out all trailers, except "Ghost Rider" only. To Blank out any scene or vTS that's basically junk, just click on any VTS, play/preview it, then use BLANK button on the "Right" or double click on PGC entry, Highlight any Cell #, Prev/Cut to play, then BLANK it out.

    And now the rest is history, meaning free of junks/craps, so it should be super easy on DVD Shrink, Nero Recode 2, DVD-RB Pro or any of your desire engines. Enjoy your backup and happy burning.

    Glad you posted your guide for this one, shows how the freebies get the job done, either way you can use both programs with Shrink if you don't have Recode and the finished product comes out excellent :)

    Yep, same thing to you too buddy. I guess we're just here doing our part trying to help those that are having issues with this movie (SILENT HILL) or any new released.

    Your guide (RipIt4Me) at the "user submitted Guides" is very good with every details. I was going to put a brand new RipIt4Me guide on my Blog and or submitted it over there, but since you beat me already, I'll just keep my eyes on your thread that's all.

    You'll need to "Open Files" via DVD Shrink or "Import Files" via Nero Recode, transcode the movie, then burn the final VIDEO_TS with Nero or ISO with DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn (your choice).

    Good luck and happy burning.

    @ACER9103

    **NOTE: for the guide, I'm using HOSTEL, but you can "transcode" SILENT HILL using the exact steps.

    <><><> STEP 3 <><><>

    - Transcode the movie with Nero Recode 2 or DVD Shrink (your choice)
    Both DVD Shrink and Nero Recode are from the same author, so it shouldn't really matter. You can use any of your desire "transcoding" or "encoding" engines. Again, for this guide, I will use Nero Recode 2.

    @ACER9103

    You may not have Recode with that OEM version, but if you have CloneDVD try opening the file with that program. If you ripped the full DVD then choose the Clone DVD option. Then browse for the file and see if it will open. If you still have problems just dl DVD Shrink that will get the job done and it is free. Just check the RipIt4Me link in my sig for software and how to use Shrink.

    So use Shrink and have Nero burn it, or use shrink to create ISO file and burn it with ImgBurn or Decrypter.

    Edit: Just got around to watching Silent Hill. What was that all about? It was beyond comprehension!!I felt as though I was in parallel universes,the bad and the horribly funny! They are teaching our children NOT to go into dark, strange rooms? What POS are we in for next week. I honestly wish AnyDVD would not have worked for this one.
