I have an old TV (only 1 input on the back) with cable box and received a DVD/VCR combo as a gift. Have never been able to hook it up correctly. Was told to get a RF modulator, which I did, and STILL can't figure out what to do. Then was told to get an S-cable, which I did, and STILL don't know how to hook up this mess. Please advise. Thank you.
try this aerial into vcr/dvd then out to tv ,u will have to see if vcr can send out test signal so your tv can pick it up on ch.0 when u try and scan for test signal. if ur tv is that old u will not get the benifts of dvd
had another look, what connections on rf mod. aerial in out to vcr,is there an s cable connection / scart 21 pins?
when not hooked up with cable box, vcr/dvd combo works fine with TV. The whole purpose was to be able to record tv shows. When I only had VCR, everything worked fine. The cable hook-up guy told me I needed to get the RF-modulator box for hooking up the combo. And yes, there are all kinds of cable slots S-cable, and those red/white/yellow ones on all 3 devices (vcr/dvd player, rf modulator, & DirectTV cable box)
