    Hi all,
I am after a Simple Explanation of exactly is going on.
What is working on what system ?

Kryptview works on ?NTHELL & C****s cable & mmds
Itgate say they have a working box. What system does this box work on or is it the case that both these work on all systems ?

All these will also be f***ed if the change to N3 is made ?

Is the change to N3 in place or are we only at N2 ?

I too would like an answer to these questions.

P.S. This forum has gotten very messy lately and very hard to follow or find information.

Maybe the first post in this thread is a reason for your complaint. OP wants a simple explanationfor a problem he explains poorly Maybe if he gives the people who might deal with this --Kryptview on ?NTHELL &C****s cable mmds--he might get a response.

Simple answer is give enough info and explain a particular problem you're having!

Yes. EDIT: Kryptview will not work on true mmds, but some mmds can use a DVBC box, true mmds needs a DVBT box, which itgate sell but you must specifically request it.

Yes, unless in the meantime N3 is hacked and can be applied to these boxes.

Also there has never been a N2 keyroll, so it is uncertain whether either box can autoupdate.

Currently broadcasting all 3 streams on the remaining working stations, and 2 & 3 on most premium ones.. They will only turn them off when everybody has N3 cards and they are confirmed working. Still no word on them issuing new cards to current newer box owners using N2. Before xmas they had info on a TV station about changing to N3 on older boxes, months have gone and they are still not all sent out. The TV staion specifically mentioned that the N2 boxes would not have N3 cards sent out (yet).

I wouldn't think either the Kryptview or the Itgate boxes would work on chor*s mmds.

Yes, ntl mmds, although as far as i know you have to manually scan your channels on the krypt, i don't know about the Itgates.

iTgate is available with a MMDS/Terrestrial(Dvb-T) tuner.

    Kryptview is Dvb-C only

    Cheers Crytpohx

I have another question regarding a eurovox.
I live in an nthell mmds area and as i have said i was using a eurovox. This system is now f****d
Now 3 miles down the road the people are on c****s mmds it is about a mile and a half as the crow fly's and they still recieve all channels.
Their ariels point in the opposite direction to mine.If i was to turn the ariel and redo the eurovox with the c****s information what is the chances of getting the signal ?

you wont be able to use that box on MMDS as its a dvb-c box for ntl and chorus cable only

mmds on chorus use dvb-t boxes

I have two ITGATE TGM 220's, that i have flashed with the latest fix and are working perfectly on ntl dublin. Would they also work on chorus mmds so, or what would i need to do, i have a friend on that system, that actually gave me the boxes cos he didn't think they would work for him. Looks like i might have to give one of them back! :(

The whole MMDS thing is a mess, they have changed it in a lot of places. Always check the box. A guy I know in swords has since changed to N*L while Ch*rus keys were working on his box previously and he was always using a DVBC box, so must have been ch*rus cable

You can buy a T tuner if it needs it, the TGM220 has a swappable tuner. I think SK only sell the TGC220 now which does not have a swappable tuner.
If/when N3 comes out you could put a sat tuner in and still use it too.

    Thanks rup :)

So has the whole of chor*s mmds in Meath changed from dvb-t to dvb-c or does anyone know what's happening there?

I would hate to go buying another tuner and then find that he's changed to dvb-c!

    Hi,

Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place. What is the advice with regard to the recent card which Nt* sent out recently. Should I follow their instructions and replace the old one with this one? Or should I not bother or does it matter either way?

Any advice re buying Kryptview v Itgate?

    thanks.

If you don't replace your card you won't be able to get the channels on your upc box.

Kryptview and Itgate are two different types of boxes. The Itgate boxes are linux based. The Kryptview fix for n2 came out a lot earlier than the Itgate one, however some people feel that the linux based boxes will be more likely to be able to handle n3 - if it ever gets cracked.

Also the Itgate can be used on a satellite system.

Both boxes have their fans, and the Kryptview would be cheaper than the Itgate models.

The Kryptview is currently sold out as far as i know, and the Itgates are still available.

Nobody knows how long any box will work for, so i would think carefully before buying anything in the current climate.

I have a friend who lives along the coast in co.meath he is with C****S,He is still recieving all channels. He bought his box from the same person I did
(there was no questions on where your lived by the vendor).
I got a eurovox slimline from him and there was instructions for both networks included.
Though i am not 100% sure i think his box is DVB-C and working fine.
    His ariel is pointing north.
I live approx 1 and half miles away from his house as the crow fly's and I am with NTHELL my ariel point's towards dublin direction and most channels are gone.
I am not sure whats going on but I would like to find out for sure as I have said futher up in the thread it could be just a ariel move and change all the settings on my box to recieve the C****S signal for me.
Can anybody that is 100% sure on the type of box's dvb-c or dvb-tused in the east meath area leave the answere here.
    Thanks.
