I think I know the answer to this already but I gotta ask to know for sure. Is AVI format the SAME as MPEG4??? Or do I need to convert it to DIVX The reason I ask is my brother just picked up a cheap DVD player from Canadian Tire for $20 the plays MPEG4 format. I have several movies and thought if I don't need to convert them I can fit 4 or 5 on a single DVD disc. So, does a dvd player that plays MPEG4 play AVI or should I drop them into the DIVX converter and convert them first???????
If your avi is not a mpeg4, then yes. Avi can come in different codecs. You can run your avi file to a program call Gspot and it will tell you what codec is in the avi file.
