I have two programs that can make a video TS folder or straight ISO of anime episodes that i have on my computer: DivxtoDVD and AVI2DVD. I encoded the same 150 meg (size of computer) episode using both encoders. DivxtoDVD turned out to make a Video_TS of 322 megs while AVI2DVD turned the 150 meg episode into 720 megs. BTW the AVI2DVD uses Cinema Craft Encoder and it takes 4 runs of the ep before fully encoding. Im wondering if it is worth giving up space on a DVD disk for the larger sized file. WIll teh quality really be that much different between the 320 meg (DivxtoDVD) vs the 720 megs (AVI2DVD) files???

can your stand alone dvd player read .avi files alone? mpeg4? data? (all the same more or less)
just a thought and much much faster, no encoding at all, and minimal space on a disk
