Skinning Problems

I just started skinning and I have made all of my mods with scenarios. I tried to skin the warthog but there was no objects\vehicles\warthog\bitmaps\warthog but there was a objects\vehicles\warthog\bitmaps\warthog_standard so I tried modding it. I finished and I injected the skin and it showed on dot halo. Then I ftp'ed the map to my xbox and started up the skin and the warthog skin I made wasn't there, just the regular one. So I tried again with the the ghost and the directory was objects\vehicles\ghost\bitmaps\ghost so I skinned that and put it on my xbox and it still didn't work.
