sky+ acting strangely ???? can u help ??

well here is one of the most weirdest things ive heard, my cousin has a standard sky+ box etc but last night she was trying to watch a program but it kept turning over as if somebody had the remote in their hand and went to the channel that they wanted, but the controller was on the floor so it wasnt accidently pressed by her etc, she then pressed tv guide and tried to get to services etc, but whatever else was controlling it was 'fighting' away from it? and went to all the p*rn channels etc. then went to all the radio stations. when she eventually got it to the channel she wanted to watch, the box was scrolling through the listing in the blue bar across the screen :S , this happened for over an hour, and when she rang sky customer service hey said they have never heard anything like it

so ive come to ask people with more knowledge than those at sky lol, so if you can tell me what was happening or how to prevent it (can sjy be hacked ? :S ), ill be more that grateful. thanks
