sky box

hi all i dont know if im putting this in the right thread but my problem is i left sky a while ago and moved the box from my room into my sons room so he could use it as a freeview as i went to turn it on tonight all the lights on front have come on there are 4 red green amber green and on the screen it says system updating please dont turn power supply off and this could take up to 10 mins the box has been like this for 2 hours now so any help would be nice thank you

 

this happened to me before and i just unplugged it, wait 30 secs, plug back in and everything was fine

 

tried that and still the same been like this for over 12 hours now

 

Hi, I have done a lot of work with SKY Boxes in the past, I have seen this problem before.

It could be that the back-up button is stuck, try pressing a few times then try this method.


First..Power off box at mains
Second:: Press and hold the back-up button on the sky box.and turn the power back on still holding the backup. Updating software screen will appear. Give it 10 mins.

Try this and get back in touch.
