i have 80 gb ide hdd installed on my computer as a slave. my main hdd is sata. when the slave is installed it takes about 10 minutes to move from the welcome screen to the desktop. if it is not hooked up there are no problems booting the computer. it is only this one hard drive, if i hook up my hdd out of my ps2, it still boots without problems. any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

the hdd out of the ps2 is jumpered as a slave. the one i'm having problems out of has no jumpers to be set as slave.

who is the manufacturer of that 80gig? if wd then that explains slow startup as it is jumpered as master(no jumper installed). if not a wd then need jumper as master or slave unless a dell then cable select.
