I need some major help I have be trying to figure out for the past two days, yes I'm a noob to 360 modding. anyways It seems the when I connect the 360 to the pc it wont boot the slax cd it's 2.1 or even without it being connected slax wont boot. I have it set cd rom to boot first in BIOs and it will boot, I tried it with other slax newer version but dind't work (tried installing in the HDD) . SO I'm stuck and dont know what it could be. now I have a hitachi 59 and from what I read I could use pretty much any PCI SIL well I bought this one http://shop3.frys.com/product/3864957#detailed I dont know if this could be the problem or maybe even the settings on it are right cuz I have no clue what to do at this point. so if anyone can help it would be much appreciated. thanks oh and OS is vista
Search for two wire trick, slax is only used to put the hitachi's in mode b. the two wire trick worked great for me. Once your in mode b you can continue flashing like normal.
I had to do two wire trick also because for some reason, my comp won't boot live cds. There are videos of this in action as well.
thanks thats what I was thinking about doing as a last resort, but what I'm worried about it that once in modeb will it still work with that pci card to flash because i also tried (with Slax)turning on 360 whencd is about to boot and got up and running but it said something like PRQ failure error (xxxxx)something like that
well I really don't know what you are talking about. But if you have the hitachi, just but it into windows once it is in mode b. Then, I just use my via sata card for the rest of the flashing.
thanks , got another question I just finally decided to go with two pin because I returned the pci card and got a sata to usb but slax had errors, anyways just want to know once the after the pin trick do you leave the 360 on and then hook it up to the pc with pc off or should it already be hooked up with the pc and just boot up pc when mode b I got to get in mode b and flashed thanks to everytone.
