    Hey guys,

I'm not quite sure if this is a software or hardware problem.

I have just bought a 2nd 'XFX Geforce 8600 SLI ready' graphics card for my PC. It installed fine and works great with some stuff, but as soon as I play a game it starts flickering, and bad, right from the load screen on.

I've tried to switch a bunch of different settings but almost nothing seems to work. although I turned my res down on one of the games "Assassin's Creed" and that worked, but why would I want 1024 x 768 res with two cards running. one graphics card is enough to do that with. Besides on my 21" wide screen it hardly looks go anyway.

there is a setting in my Nvidia control panel that switches the SLI performance type. there are 4 different settings. Every time I switch it to 'single-gpu' it seems to run fine but the performance of the game barely increases. the other 3 settings all do the same thing, with the flickering and all.

    I could use some help!

My system runs on 64-bit XP

SLI's 64-bit drivers are poor. Sell both the cards and get a faster single one. Not the news you wanted to hear, but a single fast graphics card like an HD4850 or 8800GT will outperform even a pair of 8600s in SLI, and be far more reliable doing so. It shouldn't end up costing you much either.
