Hey Guys, What versions of swap magic will work with the new slim PS2? Also, I've heard that you can't download or burn swap magic, is this true?
version 3.3 should be what you need just google it for the cheapest price mabye if your lucky youll get it on sale and yes it is true that it cant be burt becuase it has bad sectors and if you could burn CD/DVD's with bad setors then you might as well just burn the games and forget the SM discs hope this helps duggy
Since the new slimline PS2 already has a "fliptop", do I need to do mod or do anything to the PS2 in order for the magic swap to work? Or do i just pop in the magic swap like i would for a fliptop on a regular PS2?

Its fine and dandy, but the seller of the ghost switch stated to clip off the peg under the lid - I am not sure that's a good idea since it might actually be construed as modification when its time to get it repaired under warranty ! A homemade switch hold-down can easily be made with a piece of thin board ( index card is perfect) cut a strip of 3 mm wide, insert the strip into the hole with a piece of q-tip with the cotton part cut off. until it hits bottom - this activates the switch. While holding the q-tip down, fold the sides of the strip and tape both side so it stays in place, trim excess strip and tape, do the same to the other swicth and voila...This method will keep the switch depressed at all times and still allow the pegs to go through the holes. No modification whatsoever to the unit.
When you open your pstwo, use the warranty sticker as a hinge. Doing this prevents any damage to the sticker and still allows you to open your pstwo for the softmod.
Actually, there was a post somewhere else I read about whereby he/she opened the top with out breaking the seal, he used it as a hinge. Pop open the top without cutting or peeling off the sticker. It is possible, as long as you remember that there are 3 tabs on the right side of the unit ( side where the overhang is located) that you have to pop out or unhook - its a tab that fits into a slot.
