Hello, I am having really slow burning speed's using nero express version 7.0.1.2. I am running Windows 2000 Professional with a 16 speed NEC ND- 3540A. It's taking over 10 minutes to burn a 4 gig data DVD, should be about 7 minutes max i think. I am using Bulkpaq 16 speed discs, i have flashed the firmware and the drive is set to ultra DMA mode, i am running out of idea's here....... please help!
Erm, im probably wrong but i thought thats completely normal burning time, 10 minutes. Im guessing you have to drives, and are using the quick burn mode by doing it straight from one drive to another. Whats 3 minutes? I honestly can't see a problem and i think its completely normal, you havent got a problem. Have you got the ultra buffer update thingy?
With a 16 speed burner using 16 speed discs anything over 8 minutes is very slow. With my old 4 speed burner i could burn a dvd in about 14 minutes, 16 speed is taking about 10 and a half minutes, you see what i am getting at here.
I think you WILL find that most members here recommend you burn at a SLOW speed of around 4X to eliminate any burn errors. Continue to burn at FULL speed and it wont be long before you start to experience failed burns. This is only a recommendation, the decision to choose your burn speed finally rests with you. BTW I would also suggest updating your Nero to latest version
